Evie Black Dykema, Founder and Principal
Evie Black Dykema is the founder of NAVSTAR Advisors. In her role as Principal, she is involved in the management of every client engagement.
Prior to founding NAVSTAR Advisors in 2002, Evie was a Senior Analyst at Forrester Research. While at Forrester she advised CEOs, Boards of Directors, and other executives on a daily basis and won the firm's Best Research Award in 2001 (first place).
After earning an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Business, Evie served as a case team leader at Corporate Decisions, Inc. ("CDI"), which was ultimately acquired by Marsh & McLennan to augment Mercer Management Consulting's pipeline of CEO-level engagements. While at CDI and Mercer, Evie focused on CEO-level cases related to growth strategy development, business model refinement, and acquisition analysis.
Evie's preference for a relatively rigorous approach to analysis was developed while working with McKinsey & Company on corporate strategy development for the First National Bank of Chicago. She was one of the six national recruits hired into the First Scholar Program at the First National Bank of Chicago (now owned by J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.) While there she worked with various banking teams in Chicago, Tokyo, and Sydney. Prior to this, she worked with the brand management group at Procter & Gamble.
In addition to her Kellogg M.B.A., Evie earned a B.A. in Public Policy Studies at Duke University (magna cum laude) and an award from Mensa International. She has been quoted extensively and pictured occasionally in publications such as BusinessWeek, The New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal. She has also conducted many interviews on NPR, CNN, and CNBC and delivered speeches for numerous organizations, including The National Retail Federation and the Association for Corporate Growth
